Stone as chief financial officer and Patricia E. Hart as vice president and general counsel..
As CFO, Stone will oversee all financing for Aeris Communications as they prepare for the next phase of the company's growth. "Peter has an outstanding track record, with the experience and industry understanding to lead Aeris into the new century. He will be responsible for developing key corporate relationships, business planning, and all financing." said Gossen.
Prior to joining Aeris Communications, Stone was a partner at the law firm, Cooley Godward LLP. While at Cooley Godward, he provided legal and business counsel for more than 50 high-tech and emerging growth companies. Stone provided strategic counseling in early- and later-stage financings of public and private companies. Stone holds a Juris Doctor degree from Stanford University and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology from the University of California at Berkeley. Stone joined Aeris as vice president of business development in 1996.
"Pat's responsibilities as vice president and general counsel will be to oversee all corporate legal affairs, intellectual property, and to work with the CFO on financing matters," said Gossen. "We believe Pat's depth of experience will contribute greatly to our success moving forward."
Previously, Hart served as vice president and general counsel for Multicom Publishing, Inc., where she advised the executive committee of the newly public company on corporate governance and operational activities. Hart was also a senior attorney and assistant secretary for Tandem Computers Incorporated for 11 years where she provided legal counsel for Tandem's business development and acquisition activities and on securities law compliance and commercial development. Hart received a Juris Doctor degree from the McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in history from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
