San Jose, Calif. | July 27, 1999 Aeris Communications, Inc., the leading wireless connectivity provider for short packet signaling and messaging services, today announced Douglas M. Pavicich as its new director of operations. Pavicich will take over daily operations for Aeris' MicroBurstT service at the company's San Jose headquarters.
In his new position, Doug will be responsible for all day to day operations and network management reporting to Michael Pote, vice president of operations.
"Doug's knowledge of the cellular carrier network and his experience in working with cutting edge technologies will strengthen us as we gear up to serve MicroBurst's expanding markets," said Dick Gossen, president and CEO of Aeris. "His track record in product management and deployment is impressive, and we consider him an important addition to the Aeris team."
In his most recent position, Pavicich co-founded Corsair Communications Inc., a Palo Alto-based cellular fraud prevention company, where he negotiated worldwide mission critical service contracts with major distribution partners such as Ericsson and Motorola. Also during his tenure at Corsair, Pavicich managed a group of more than 80 engineers while at the same time establishing a revenue maintenance program that grew 91 percent in the second full year.
Previously, Pavicich held several senior management positions in the communications and design engineering departments of small to mid-size wireless technology companies. He led teams of engineers in developing second generation products from concept to development and developed test equipment for computer peripherals and integrated circuits.
Pavicich holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from San Jose State University.
