San Jose, Calif. | Sept. 12, 2000 Aeris.net, the leading provider of web-to-wireless, machine-to-machine communications services, today announced the addition of Elizabeth Maxfield to the external affairs group. Maxfield brings nearly 20 years of legal and consulting experience in the wireless communications industry.
Maxfield will be responsible for regulatory and industry relations for Aeris.net. She will report directly to Dick Gossen, president and CEO.

Prior to Aeris.net, she served as senior vice president for industry affairs, vice president and executive deputy director for the Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association (CTIA). She initially met Aeris.net while establishing CTIA's Wireless Data Forum. Earlier in her career, Maxfield was an attorney with Becker, Gurman, Lukas, Meyers, O'Brien & McGowan, representing clients in a variety of communications services including cellular, local exchange, broadcast and microwave before the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). From 1979 to 1981, she served as deputy director for the FCC's Office of Public Affairs.

Maxfield graduated from Southern Methodist University, earning a B.F.A., magna cum laude in Journalism. She also received a Juris Doctorate from the University of Texas School of Law while serving as Administrative Editor for the Texas International Law Journal.
