Omega Research & Development Inc. and TelEvoke, Inc. combine to offer car owners with a first of its kind, GPS-based vehicle tracking and theft notification system that can immediately notify owners by phone, e-mail or text pager when car alarms are triggered. Omega provides customers with their breakthrough GPS2000 system, which is comprised of a GPS receiver and cellular radio modem. The module, safely installed away from where any would be thief could reach it, sends messages with GPS location data over Aeris's MicroBurst network to the TelEvoke Network Operations Center (NOC). At this point, the NOC sends pre-designated phone, e-mail or pager message to the owner, informing them of what alarm has been triggered, as well as the vehicle's location, speed and direction.
